Lila's tour of fine Scandanavian design continues

Josh and I were going crazy with the food tossing off the high chair. It had reached a peak of naughtiness in the last couple of weeks where everything you placed on her tray was guaranteed to catapult to the linoleum in a matter of seconds. Lila was even getting mischevious enough to defy our orders to stop by slipping the food UNDER the tray, and dropping it, incognito, all while maintaining eye contact with us.

Something had to be done.

So I went to Ikea.

Oh Mecca of blond wood, crisp corners and simmering Swedish meatballs, you complete me.

I forked over $39 on the table and two chairs pictured in this post, and it was money darn well spent, as Lila has been enjoying every meal from her new perch to much saner - and cleaner - results.

It was actually a consult with Dr. Puck that sealed the deal. Sister-lady said that perhaps we were trying too hard to stuff our little toddler with more food than she was hungry for. Seems right about now, a toddler's interest in food diminshes simultaneously with her need for the same amounts she had been scarfing down so ravenously in her first year. Not only do they eat less, but now their attention span is shorter. So the rule is that Lila can leave the table, but she has to leave the food there. Interestingly enough, she does tend to finish her meal in one sitting, and when she's done, she's done.

Not only have her physical manners vastly improved, but she has also learned to tack on "please" (or "peese" as she says it) to all her requests, i.e., "cheese toast peese!", "book peese!", and "bubbles peese! peese! peese!"

As Josh likes to call her, Adorable Jones!
