A brief visual interruption

Ben

I actually have no pictures of Lila to post today, but I do have a photo of Josh's cousin Ben, who reportedly reads this blog from his bachelor pad in Brooklyn. It has no tie-in to Lila at all, but we like the picture and I've got no Lila-centric alternatives. Howdy, Ben!

And some news about Lila too, who is fighting off a cold. Valiently, I might add. She has thick, green stuff coming out of her nose by the bucketful, a cough, and a rash on her legs. We happened to have a check-up last Friday when the illness appeared to be peaking, and Dr. Bess confirmed it as a garden-variety virus that hopefully would not evolve into a sinus or ear infection (So far, so good).

She showed off some of her verbal skills too, spent a good 10 minutes trying to put on her shoe, and mooed like a cow on command, all which made Dr. Bess ooh and aah sufficiently, to our immense satisfaction. We also learned that Lila is starting to creep off the charts height-wise, which we were noticing ourselves when we see her at the playground a full head above kids her age. She is now 93rd percentile for height. On the scale, however, she gained a bafflingly slight 3 ounces, dropping her to the 40th percentile for weight.

She was, of course, deemed a genius, a great beauty, and preternaturally socially skilled, by her pal, Dr. Bess. This with a steady flow of thick, green mucus coming out of her nose.

We couldn't agree more.
